The audax story
We began our journey as Standard Chartered nexus (“SC nexus”), a Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) solution enabling the embedding of Standard Chartered’s financial products via partner ecosystems to reach unbanked segments of customers. Through SC nexus, Standard Chartered Bank became the first global bank to provide BaaS in Asia, with successful partnerships including Bukalapak, an Indonesian all-commerce platform.
Recognising the rising demand for a seamless digital banking experience, we understood the imperative for incumbent banks to diversify their technology strategy. This strategy is essential to rapidly bring new products and services to market while managing the constraints of legacy infrastructure.
Leveraging our technology capabilities and our team’s in-depth knowledge of navigating the complexities of delivering tailored solutions for financial institutions, we evolved into audax. Our spin-off into audax empowers us to enable more clients to scale and modernise with our modularised capabilities.

Mathias leads the product and technology function overseeing architecture, developer experience, infrastructure and cybersecurity to deliver an unparalleled banking experience. He has over 20 years of experience in technology in financial services, most notably focusing on digitalisation and transformation.
